Holiday Decor...

I thought I would share some of our Christmas decor with you...

I love Christmas so much and I adore getting out all my decorations, although even though this is our third Christmas in this house (wow!), I have yet to unpack all the boxes in the attic! I know there's some great stuff up there I need to drag out!
There are also several things I know I would like to add/change/freshen, but chasing Miss Priss around doesn't lend itself to getting a lot of holiday decorating done! Ha! Maybe next year...
Anyway, here's the front door. Welcome!
The "Bird" tree...I love bird ornaments and have a pretty good collection: lots of owls, peacocks, flamingos...Some of these pretties were my favorite ornaments to put on the tree when I was a little girl!
The small tree in the kitchen that is now housing the Christmas cards, too. See yours? We're already about to run out of room! Under the cards are lots of iced gingerbread men (and women), peppermint candies and baking utensils! A fitting tree for the kitchen! The dining room...I love this room! The staircase...I collect Mark Roberts Santa Fairies, specifically, the 12 Days of Christmas collection. There is a Santa Fairy that represents each of the twelve gifts! The fairies are so fun--I only lack three, I think! The tree... (I have a lot of wrapping to do! And re-wrapping! Angel Baby keeps tearing into the gifts!) First with no flash...And then with a flash, so you can see a few of the ornaments. I love oversized anything, and ornaments are no exception! I am always on the lookout--especially for some in my, ahem, nontraditional color scheme! I have a zillion ornaments--quite literally--that I don't use on this tree that are more traditional, such as the silver snowflakes my mom collects for me, my Old World and Christopher Radko glass ornaments (With concrete floors and a toddler? Ha!), and the many many many ornaments from my childhood tree. I think it's time to add another tree so I can enjoy all my ornaments!

The mantel...no flash...
Flash...
I wish you could see those stockings better! I ordered them from dellamaedesigns, who was so sweet and patient with me as we designed them and got the colors just right! Go check her out!

Angel Baby's tree! Pinks and greens, mostly. I have a lot of work to do on it. It was too top-heavy, so I made this cool handpainted pot to put it in, and used plaster of paris to hold it in place. The plaster cracked the pot, so I gave up and it is just sitting in its pretty little cracked pot. I am going to start again next year on the tree!I love this sweet porcelain musical figurine so much! It was in my room at Christmas as a child, and I remember winding her until the gears were sooo tight, just so I could fall asleep listening to Greensleves! Now she graces Addison's room, and I hope she enjoys her as much as I did! While writing about the musical girl, I started to think about some of the Christmas decorations in my parents house. As a child, I think one of my most favorite decorations my mom and grandmother both had was a set of kissing angels, of which the girl angel twirls around, just grazing the boy angel's lips! I must have played with these for hours! Neither set has been passed down yet--I think my mom must really enjoy them, too! Here's a picture of some:

Aren't they sooo cute and vintage? So sweet! Does anyone else remember these?

I hope you enjoyed looking at some of our Christmas decorations! I might add a few pictures later, as I get braver and delve deeper into the attic!

Merry Christmas! Oh, and if you're here from the tour, please stick around for a while!

I have those same kissing angels. They are my favourite decoration. My grandparents passed them down to be a few years ago. I still have the original box they came in and it says they were about $4.00.

I love your style! I'd comment specifically on certain things, but I loved it all. So out-of-the-box and yet so tastefully done.

And where did you get that super cool carpet on the stairs?? I want me some! Guess I need a set of stairs first though.
